Protein is great for many purposes, such as building muscle and losing weight. Protein keeps you full for longer periods of time so you’ll feel hungry less frequently and when you do eat, you likely won’t eat as much. This results in you eating less and consequently taking in less calories, which eventually leads to a calorie deficit. This in turn leads to fats being burned and voila. You’ve lost weight! The benefits of protein are many, so of course, it makes sense to get more of it. In this article, I will be sharing with you a high protein foods food list.

Food 1 – Chicken

Chicken is one of the most commonly consumed meats, and luckily, it contains lots of protein!

100 grams of chicken breast meat will give you 31 grams of protein, 100 grams of chicken drumstick meat will give you 18 grams of protein, and 100 grams of chicken wing meat will give you 30.5 grams of protein!

Considering that your body can only take in 30 grams of protein at a time, you can easily get as much protein as you need from chicken, while at the same time enjoying its delicious taste!

Food 2 – Eggs

Eggs are another great source of protein, and also taste super good!

Each chicken egg contains about 6 grams of protein. You can eat them scrambled, boiled, poached, fried, you name it! There are many ways to eat eggs, and you can enjoy it any way you want, which is why it is another great source of protein.

Although an egg is high in protein, it does contain other nutrients such as Vitamin B12 and Iodine, so you may be taking in some unwanted nutrients and extra calories. If you are looking for purely protein, without all the other nutrients, eat only the egg whites, as egg whites are almost purely protein, and most of the protein of an egg are in its whites.

Food 3 – Almonds

Almonds are a tasty and healthy snack, and is also high in protein!

A 100 grams serving of almonds provides you with 21.15 grams of protein. They are also rich in essential nutrients such as fiber, magnesium and Vitamin E!

It also makes a great late night drink.

In addition, if you’re worried about the calories and fats, you can go for low fat or skimmed milk, which usually contain close to zero percent fat, so milk is one of the healthiest forms of protein you can get.

Food 5 – Salmon

Lastly, salmon is another tasty and high in protein food.

Salmon is not only high in protein, providing 22.1 grams of protein for every 100 grams of it, but also in nutrients, containing omega-3 fatty acids which are very good for your heart.

There are also many ways to eat it, with all kinds of sauces, so you can enjoy a hearty meal while at the same time stocking up on protein.
